Old and Latest Version WordPress Login Password Reset via PHPMyAdmin

Firstly, you must have a Hosting server(Cpanel, Plesk etc.), VPS, Dedicated Server login credentials for resetting your WordPress password from the database. If you already have your hosting login credentials, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your hosting server (Cpanel, Plesk etc.) and scroll to Databases section (phpMyAdmin).wordpress password phpMyAdmin
    2. If you have many DB in phpMyAdmin then you can specify the correct DB (username and password) associating with the website which you forget the login information by:

      You have to use File Manager (in cPanel) or FTP, open wp-config.php file from the root directory of your website.

      /** MySQL database username */
      define( 'DB_USER', 'fileseri_wp204' );
      
      /** MySQL database password */

      So my website database name is fileseri_wp204.

    3. Go to PHPMyAdmin and find DB_NAME(An example: fileseri_wp204) from the PHPMyAdmin database list. Then click on the name of your WordPress database.Wordpress Database
    4. You will now see the list of tables in your WordPress database. Now you need to look for the ‘{table-prefix}_users’ table in this list and click on the ‘Browse’ button link.Wordpress Table
    5. Choose the username whose password you want to reset and click on the EDIT button on the left side.Wordpress DB
    6. Go to  Wordpress Password Hash Generator.  Then enter your new password in the input field and generate this password hash. An Example: My new password is admin123 and this password hash is $P$BYvMqvbCzpUffJyIdNv62Qk4R/BCMa1Webcods WordPress Password Hash Generator
    7. For reset lastest version WordPress password (Works 2018), You will need to delete the value in the user_pass field and replace it with the newly generated password hash(An Example: $P$BYvMqvbCzpUffJyIdNv62Qk4R/BCMa1).
